When Jesus was facing Pilate just prior to His crucifixion, Pilate asked Him, “What is truth?” {John 18:38} Jesus did not answer him. So I have the same question, what is truth?
The answer is very simple - Jesus said that He was "the way, the truth, and the life.” But what does that mean?
To understand this extremely complicated notion, one must only have one thing- the Holy Spirit. Why the Spirit? because in
1 John 5:6 Jesus said the following about the Spirit.
" This is He who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth."
So what Jesus was saying, what God was saying, and what I am saying is that the Word of God is the truth, and more than that. What the Spirit of the Lord teaches us about the Word of God, and what He tells us in our everyday lives that lines up with the Word of God, that is the truth. The truth is the ultimate authority and it emancipates from all error.
Because this is the reality, if we hear, see, or say anything that does not perfectly line up with the word of God - God’s heart, then we must reject it as a lie. Even if we are convinced in our natural minds that what we are experiencing is really the deciding factor!
