Romans 15:1-2
These verses say “we then who are strong out to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. “
I asked the Lord what this meant, and he instructed me correctly. The word scruples here implies an error in judgment from a week or uninstructed mind. Basically it means making a bad decision because you don’t know any better. So we who are strong are those who according to Hebrews 4 have our senses exercise by reason of use to discern good and evil These are the strong leaders of meat. When it says here and Romans 15 one that we bear the scruples of the week it means that we don’t just laugh at or discard or discount people who know the Lord but I have made poor decisions because of their week mindedness. No instead we do what is “pleasing” To them. What is pleasing to them is actually to teach them what they should do according to verse two says let each of us please his neighbor for his good leading to edification. We lead them to edification we lead them to knowledge and wisdom we leave them so that they can make better choices in the future and we forgive their foolish decisions from the past. but pleasing ourselves would be just writing them off discounting them and keeping the information that we have to ourselves.
