The coming

Acts 1:9-11

“Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven. ‘“

In Luke 21, Matthew 24 and Mark 13, Jesus was being questioned by the disciples when the end of the age would be and what the sign of His coming they could watch for. These of course are all the same incident just told by three different gospel authors. Jesus was very clear in His response. He warned them not to be deceived. He stated that many people would go out and perform lying signs and wonders and would deceive many- if possible, even the elect. He then went into a small dissertation with them telling them that these “miracle workers” would claim to be Christ and that they would show up at various places around the globe. Then, Jesus instructed plainly in Matthew 24:27 that the only true sign that would be shown that would verify whom they were seeing was Jesus was that He would come in the sky “as the lightning flashes from East to West.” The word says to let every word be established by two or three witnesses, and up until now, most of the world has thought that Jesus was the only witness stating that He would come back in the clouds to rapture the church. However, upon closer examination, we can see that the angels who were present with the disciples at Jesus’ ascension spoke the same thing as Jesus except in a different way. The angels said that Jesus would “come in like manner as {they} saw Him go to heaven”.

To discover the “like manner”, look at verse 9- Jesus was taken up and received by a cloud. It is in this way that He will return to rapture the church according to Matt 24:27 and here in Acts 1:11!

Therefore do not be deceived but receive the truth of the Lord- do not go into a place where you hear the Messiah is - even if there are miracles happening. Anyone who claims to be the Messiah and performs signs and wonders on earth before rapturing the church in the sky is a liar and working with the father of lies.
